Miss Frisco 2009 & Miss Plano 2009 make their 1st appearance

Andrea & Kathryn Star Children's Charity BallMiss Frisco 2009, Kathryn Dunn and Miss Plano 2009, Andrea Brown helped to round out Star Children's Charity's first year of fundraising on Saturday, November 15. Headlining this event was the inimitable Temptations as the Star Winter Ball was presented by Brennan Financial Services at the Embassy Suites in Frisco.  

Star Children's Charity helps fund nonprofit organizations in Collin County that advance the well-being of children. The charity limits its members to 100 families who help raise money and volunteer to give beneficiaries necessities, medical treatment, academic encouragement, spiritual growth, safety and protection.

Chaired by Star founders Michelle Brennan Hall and Linda Paulk with Pete Delkus and Shelly Slater of WFAA/Channel 8 as emcees, the black tie gala was a veritable winter wonderland of Christmas trees by local designers.

The trees were created by Michael Hamilton of Noel Christmas Store,  Neiman Marcus and Susan Spindler,  J. Lancaster Design, Holidaze & Gifts, Antique Shop/Charm Hubbs-Faulkner, IBB Design Furniture Showroom, Susan Stuart, Kerry Higgins Interiors,  RSVP Social Calendar/Tablescapes,  Pam Hatchard of F.A.I.T.H. Jewelry, Gary Riggs Interiors, and Dr. Delphinium Designs and Events.  

Live auction items included a trip to Ireland with a accommodations at Waterford Castle and a tour of the Waterford factory, celebrity sports excursions, use of a Steamboat, Col. house for ten, a weekend in New York City, a year of blowouts by stylist Daniel Lewis of Shear Genius and a fitness package complete with a coach.  

Miss Plano and Miss Frisco were on hand to help with auction items and to personally thank the attendees for their charitable donations. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs, CITY House, Children's Medical Center Legacy, Crossroads Family Services, Plano Children's Medical Clinic, Presbyterian Hospital and the Samaritan Inn.
