Miss Plano Frisco
CONGRATULATIONS Kaitlyn for achieving 1st Runner Up to Miss Teen Texas 2010!

Miss Plano's Outstanding Teen 2010

Kaitlyn is in her Sophomore year of High School and holds high academic honor roll status. During her high school career she has been bestowed the Lone Star State Scholar award in addition to the Model Student award in Science, Math, English and History as well. The Model Student award is selected by teacher’s and is based upon a student’s academic performance, character and leadership.

Kaitlyn has a heart for helping others and is a young leader in the making. She is the founder of V.I. P., Volunteers in Progress, which is an organization she designed to help young people get involved and lend a hand to others. Just like all of us, Kaitlyn understands how easy it is to be consumed by the challenges of daily life. The problems in our local community, let alone around the world may seem too big for one person to make a difference. However, she knows from direct experience that volunteering provides an opportunity to change the lives of others.

Take as an example you are in a room with others which has lost electricity. One person finds and lights a candle and suddenly there is a glimmer of light. They hand you a candle and light it with the one in their hand, until eventually all of the people in the room now have a lighted candle. The darkness is gone and everyone can see again. That is how volunteering works. Just as one person lit a candle and made a difference between darkness and light, so can one person make a difference when they volunteer. By inspiring others to volunteer it will generate a chain reaction thus creating and encouraging more volunteers, both today and tomorrow.

Kaitlyn’s goal is to continue encouraging the younger generation to do more for others. As she does, she knows the “me generation” will see how they can change someone’s life and in so doing From Youthful Seeds will Grow Mighty Trees.
