Brooks was awarded the title of Miss Frisco 2008 on Sunday, October 21, 2007 and was also awarded Talent Winner.
She will compete for the title of Miss Texas in July and will perform "Show Off" from the broadway musical The Drowsy Chaperone.

It is our responsibility, starting right now, to practice environmental habits which will preserve our resources for generations to come. Three important components of living an environmentally responsible life include recycling, conservation and awareness.
However, it isn’t just about protecting the environment we immediately live in it is also about making good choices. In choosing our lifestyle carefully we are, in effect, able to help people around the world who are less fortunate. For example, when we recycle one aluminum can it produces enough energy to power a television for three hours. Think about how that energy could be used in a third world country for a doctor volunteering his time to help the sick. Giving money to charity instead of spending it on one more thing you want and really don’t need enables a child in a distant land to get a textbook. In almost everything we do, there is an affect in someway on someone else in this world.
Painting our generation green and conserving our resources has no age barrier. Anyone can benefit from the message and grow from it. Going green boils down to a new way of thinking and learning a process which really does have important benefits for improving life. It is more than just recycling cans, it is a program that teaches everyone to take care of not only our planet, but ourselves too.
